Dario Beck Interview

I'm thrilled to publish this weeks interview with the very handsome model Dario Beck.  Mr. Beck also does acting, and he kindly provided me numerous awesome pictures of him modeling underwear which can be found at the end of the interview.  I encourage you all to follow him and his modeling adventures on his Twitter -- there's even more pictures of him there! Go check 'em out!

1. Age: 28

2. Where are you from?

I was born in Spain, but I'm half Italian and was raised in both Germany and Spain.

3. Favorite superhero? Spiderman

4. Have you always been fit?

I have always been lean and kinda muscle defined. Even before I started working out at the gym people would think I already did. I have never changed much, just got a bit bigger, but I don't want to get massive. My ideal body type is a swimmer body figure.

5. Who or what inspired you to become a model?

Classic male Hollywood stars like Marlon Brando or James Dean. I always looked up to them, and would still consider them true icons of masculinity.

6. What would you say is the toughest aspect of being a model?

Feeling like an object sometimes. I like to be treated as a normal guy, I don't like it when people look at you as if you come from another planet just because you are a model. Its just a job.

7. What’s been the most rewarding experience as a model?

Getting to know really nice and interesting people, and traveling to exciting places. I am having a great time and making very good friends.

8. What’s your biggest pet peeve or “no-no” when it comes to men’s fashion?

Wearing socks with sandals, and g-strings.

9. What is your favorite way to stay in shape?

The Kamasutra. It keeps you in pretty good shape... :-D

10. Can you also tell me about what your regular diet looks like? Do you have a guilty pleasure when it comes to sweets or junk food?

Breakfast (before the work out): Double espresso, lots of cereals and eggs or crepes (my own pancakes recipe, sugar and lactose free, with lots of eggwhites).

Lunch (after work out): Pasta or pizza, and some meat (beef, chicken, turkey) seafood or tofu.

Snack: Espresso, crepes, cereals, piece of cake, piece of fruit.

Dinner: Salad or vegetables with some fish, meat, seafood or tofu.

Snack: Crepes, Yogurt or kefir.

My guilty pleasures: Cheeseburgers, chocolate and coffee.

11. Which do you prefer: boxers, briefs, or boxer briefs? Why?

Briefs. They look better and feel better, in my opinion. I don't want my "best friend" slapping against my legs whenever I move a bit faster.

12. Do you favor any underwear brands? If so, which and why?

I really like the Calvin Klein hip briefs, they are probably the most comfortable underwear I have ever tried on. And they fit nicely. Very important for me is that it's 100% cotton, so you don't sweat too much. Living in Barcelona, where most of the year it's hot and humid, the last thing you need is a spandex boxer-brief that feels like a plastic bag. Other favourite brands of mine are Ermenegildo Zegna and Zimmerli. They have an underwear line made of lisle cotton. It's so light you can see through it. It''s amazing.

13. What would someone find if they went through your underwear drawer?

My 44 magnum :-D Just kidding! Actually nothing but tons of white underwear, and socks. And a lot of white plain lisle cotton t-shirts. I use them a lot, specially in the summer.

14. You get a natural wedgie in public – how do you handle it?

Id make sure not to point at anyone. No, actually, the best is to sit down and lean forward, and never look down or try hiding it with your hands. That would make everything more obvious.

15. GQ wrote an article a few months ago stating that “tighty-whities” are stylish now. How do you feel about tighty-whities, & do you agree with GQ?

Yeah, I totally agree with GQ! Tighty-whities are cool, and go with everything. Its a classic. The only thing I don't like is when they are so tight that they smash your junk against you. The newer styles have more fabric where you need it, and also fit better.

16. What's the best advice you've ever received?

Never make eye contact while eating a banana :-)

Andi D. Interview

1. Age: 26, and about as worldly as a 14-year old Amish girl.

2. Where are you from?

Originally Dumbarton, then Motherwell, then Hull, then Motherwell again and now I live in the big city. Glasgow’s the big city, right?

3. Current occupation?

Digital Marketing and PR man for a few arts organisations, which obviously means I’m also an actor, a singer, a dancer, a writer and the sort of guy who goes to bed hoping that tomorrow he’ll wake up as a superhero.

4. Favorite current pop song? I’ve just come out the other end of a hard addiction to Blurred Lines.

5. Which do you prefer: boxers, briefs, or boxer briefs? Why?

Definitely boxer briefs. Boxers don’t really give you a lot of support, but also briefs just don’t look good on my body type. Boxer briefs are the best of both worlds, and they’re more flattering if people are going to see you with your clothes off.

6. Has your current preference always been your underwear preference? If not, what’d you switch from, and what made you change?

When I was a young teenager, I was a boxers sort of guy, but honestly it would’ve been around the time I got any sort of interest in feeling attractive to other people. Plus I realised that those involuntary reactions teenage boys have at a moment’s notice are a lot easier to keep under control if your underwear isn’t loose and paper thin.

7. Do you favor any underwear brands? If so, which and why?

When I have money, I like a pair of Aussiebums or Andrew Christian, but I think the best underwear I have is probably more High Street. I have a pair of red Hollister boxer briefs (a Christmas present) that I really love, and a few pairs of white David Beckham ones from H&M.

8. What would someone find if they went through your underwear drawer?

A lot of boxer briefs in varying levels of quality, some very short swimwear, a couple of jock straps for dance purposes, and the same pair of underwear in five different colours. It’s also where I keep my passport.

9. You get a natural wedgie in public – how do you handle it?

Hand in the pocket. It might not be subtle, but there isn’t really a subtle way to deal with that, is there? Far better than shoving your hand down your trousers in public.

10. Do you have a lucky or favorite pair of underwear? If so, what color/style?

When I was 20 I had this pair of short, grey pinstripe boxer briefs (really more ‘trunks’ than anything) that I wore to my graduation, so for a while they were my lucky ones, until I realised how awful they were. I should’ve known it from the pirate ship embroidered on the back. Nowadays it’s probably the red Hollister ones.

11. Do you have any funny or memorable underwear stories?

A few years ago I was running late for a train in Motherwell. I hopped out the shower, threw some clothes on and made a dash for the station. I was almost there when I felt myself nearly trip on something. I looked back, and between me and this elderly couple was yesterday’s underwear, somehow left inside the jeans I was wearing for the second day in a row. I was mortified, and I couldn’t go running back to pick up my underwear in front of these old people, so I just turned around and kept walking. I left them there. In the street. My underwear’s in a Motherwell gutter somewhere.

12. GQ wrote an article a few months ago stating that “tighty-whities” are stylish now. How do you feel about tighty-whities, & do you agree with GQ?

If you look good in a pair of tighty-whities, then more power to you. I look ridiculous.

13. Words to live by?

“However many terrible, rankling, peeve-inducing things may occur, there are always libraries. And rain-falling-on-sea. And the Moon. And love. There is always something to look back on, with satisfaction, or forward to, with joy. There is always a moment where you boggle at the world – at yourself – at the whole, unlikely, precarious business of being alive – and then start laughing.” – Caitlin Moran

Eric Block Interview

I'm thrilled to publish this weeks interview with the incredibly fit underwear and fitness model Eric Block. He kindly provided me numerous awesome pictures of him modeling underwear which can be found at the end of the interview.  I encourage you all to follow him and his modeling adventures on his Twitter and Instagram -- there's even more pictures of him there! Go check 'em out!

1. Age: 23 years old

2. Where are you from? Philadelphia, PA

3. Favorite workout song? Anything by Eminem, I like the yelling in his songs in the gym for hype up purposes

4. Favorite superhero?

Wolverine, he is a badass, jacked, and has metal as a skeleton, plus he can heal himself extremely fast which is pretty bad ass.

5. Who or what inspired your fitness and model interest? Have you always been fit?

My fitness inspiration was just kids my age in 8th grade that would make chubby jokes and I made a promise to make every single one of them eat their words. I have been active and athletic all my life but really stepped it up in 8th grade and never looked back.

My mother and father inspired my model interest because they taught me to believe in myself.

6. What would you say is the toughest aspect of being a model?

Toughest aspect of being a model is the criticism and learning to cope with rejection.

7. What’s been the most rewarding experience as a fitness model?

The most rewarding aspect of being a model is of course the experiences and once in a lifetime opportunities, however, it is pretty amazing when people know who you are from your pictures before you even enter a room. Extremely humbling as well.

8. What have you learned about yourself from being a fitness model?

I have learned that you can’t please everyone. You can only stay true to yourself and follow your own path.

9. How do you stay in shape? That is, what does your typical weekly gym schedule look like? How do you keep yourself motivated to stick to your schedule?

My gym schedule goes as follows:

Two-a-days every day except Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday and Sunday I make sure to train once but just break up my training.

Monday: 9am- heavy chest 5pm- high volume arms
Tuesday: 9am- heavy shoulders 5pm- high volume legs
Wednesday: 9am- heavy back 5pm- high volume chest
Thursday: 9am- heavy legs 5pm- high volume shoulders
Friday: 9am- heavy arms 5pm- high volume back
Saturday: calves, traps, hamstrings, glutes (all high volume)
Sunday: triceps, quads, calves, abs (all high volume)

I stay motivated to keep this schedule because I want to train unlike everyone else to achieve a physique no one else has.

10. Can you tell me about what your regular diet looks like? Do you have a guilty pleasure when it comes to sweets or junk food?

Diet is pretty clean year round. My main protein sources are chicken and fish, but if I want to put on a little more size I will add in red meat. My carbs consist of veggies, and my starch carbs are mainly, steel cut oats, sweet potato, brown rice, and grits. My guilty pleasure is either pizza or sushi.

11. What is your biggest pet peeve at the gym?

My biggest pet peeve at the gym is when people are talking and bullshitting around while I am waiting to use a piece of equipment or particular weight.
12. Which do you prefer: boxers, briefs, or boxer briefs? Why?

Boxer briefs are my underwear of choice. They are tight which I like but long enough to not ride up.

13. Has your current preference always been your underwear preference? If not, what’d you switch from, and what made you change?

Originally I was a big fan of regular boxers but I switched as I got more into working out because it became too uncomfortable to wear the loose boxers when going hard in the gym.

14. Do you favor any underwear brands? If so, which and why?

No particular underwear brand, but I tend to like designer brands more than anything else, probably because that is what I am given during photo shoots.

15. You’re in a public place and you get a natural wedgie -- how do you handle it?

I will probably try to pick it out if it’s that uncomfortable.

16. What would someone find if they went through your underwear drawer?

Boxer briefs both athletic and designer.

17. Do you have a lucky or favorite pair of underwear? If so, what style/color?

No lucky pair in particular.

18. GQ wrote an article a few months ago stating that “tighty-whities” are stylish now. How do you feel about tighty-whities, & do you agree with GQ?

I disagree with GQ because “tighty whities” are too tight and can ride up my legs especially when I’m working out.

19. Do you have any funny or memorable underwear stories?

My only embarrassing underwear story is that back when I first started working out I wore boxers and when I was squatting I ripped the pair of boxers in half.

20. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have ever received is to always remember who supported you from the beginning.

Tyrone Nell Interview

I'm thrilled to publish this weeks interview with the super handsome model Tyrone Nell. Mr. Nell is a professional model from South Africa. He kindly provided me numerous awesome pictures of him modeling underwear which can be found at the end of the interview.  I encourage you all to follow him and his modeling adventures on his Twitter, Blog, and Facebook -- there's even more pictures of him there! Go check 'em out!

1. Age: 26, well, 25 but almost 26.

2. Where are you from? Cape Town, South Africa. But now living in Johannesburg, South Africa.

3. Favorite superhero? Hmmmm… Is Thor a superhero? If he is, then most definitely him.

4. Zoolander or Hansel? Zoolander of course!

5. Have you always been fit?

Nopes, I used to be extremely skinny and underweight and never excelled at any sports. I did however spend a lot of time outdoors as a kid in a small town called St. Lucia in South Africa and that involved a lot of walking and running and swimming, it was just that for some reason when it came to competing at school, I was a lost cause.

6. Who or what inspired you to become a model?

Myself to be honest! My dream is in actual fact to do film and television. I dream of the first time I get to take on a lead role in a feature film! Modelling was merely a stepping stone towards what I really want to do as I lacked self confidence and I was extremely green and unsure of how to get to where I wanted to be, so for some reason I had this little voice inside me telling me to head into modelling first. Somehow that little voice has guided me to where I am today with the modelling and my first short film under the belt and now also my first gig hosting a television show here in South Africa called Fashion Guru SA.

7. What would you say is the toughest aspect of being a model?

"Hurry up and wait!" haha! We work long hours and most of them are spent sitting around doing nothing. Other than that I would say the usual old criticism you get from going to castings or from shoots and facing rejection, but that you tend to get used to.

8. What’s been the most rewarding experience as a model?

Meeting the most interesting people, getting to work and network with people who intrigue me and the fact that I keep on learning so much more about myself as a person and the journey that I am on challenges me on a daily basis.

9. Have you had any embarrassing or awkward experiences while modeling?

Not really to be honest, we always goof around on shoots and I try not to take myself too seriously at times. I think the most embarrassed I have felt though was when I initially started casting for television ads and had to start acting out absurd scenes without props and only imagination!

10. What is your favorite way to stay in shape?

The good old fashion gym session! I don't really watch my diet and I am lucky enough to not have to do cardio due to my high metabolism, but in order to keep the muscle I have to lift weights.

11. Can you also tell me about what your regular diet looks like? Do you have a guilty pleasure when it comes to sweets or junk food?

I am lucky enough to not have to watch my diet really, and I don't really crave any foods in particular...

12. What’s your biggest pet peeve or “no-no” when it comes to men’s fashion?

haha! I am such a fashion mishap, although now I am trying to improve my eye for style, but it is taking a while. One thing that I have always disliked though, even as a child is when people wear white socks with black shoes. Ah, and also blacksneakers, I dislike blacksneakers!

13. Which do you prefer: boxers, briefs, or boxer briefs? Why?

Briefs, I just find them more comfortable and they look hot!

14. Do you favor any underwear brands? If so, which and why?

Tough question, I have loads of favorites, but right now I would say my top ones are CIN2, Andrew Christian and 2Xist.

15. Do you have a lucky or favorite pair of underwear? If so, what style/color?

I have many! No lucky ones though… I love my white undies and then my black ones as well as all of my jock straps!

16. Has modeling underwear made you pickier when it comes to underwear? Are you more interested and knowledgeable in underwear than when you started modeling?

Absolutely! Beforehand I would wear any underwear, if it was bought at the 50c store I would probably wear it, but once you have experienced true comfort and sexiness then you never go back!

17. What would someone find if they went through your underwear drawer?

Lots of hot underwear and jockstraps! They would probably want to try them on...

18. You get a natural wedgie in public – how do you handle it?

I tend to straighten out and make sure that everything is in the right place beforehand.

19. GQ wrote an article a few months ago stating that “tighty-whities” are stylish now. How do you feel about tighty-whities, & do you agree with GQ?

YES! Tighty whities are my favorite of favorite underwear!

20. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

It sounds so cheesy, but to never give up, and I am serious!
